DBAC’s Manoj Kumar leaves the insurer

Doha Bank Assurance Company executive manager and head Manoj Kumar is leaving the insurer.

Kumar, who set up the Qatari insurer, is moving to London.

He said: “I have had an eventful tenure at Doha Bank and Doha Bank Assurance Company, which included setting up the company and running it successfully. I have now decided to move on and relocate to London.”

Kumar added: “I shall still be with the insurance / reinsurance industry in some other form and capacity.”

DBAC is currently awaiting authrorisation from the Qatar Financial Centre for a takaful life insurance licence.

The firm filed its application with the regulator at the start of 2010 as part of its plans to provide life insurance alongside existing product lines, such as health insurance.

Kumar’s replacement has not yet been announced.
